Principles and Policies Podcast for 12/09/2011- Ohio House Education Committee Democratic Caucus Inadvertantly Proves Need For Bill They Oppose

This entry is part 50 of 55 in the series Principles and Policies Podcast

Our Principles and Policies radio show for Friday December 9, 2011. Barry Sheets and Chuck Michaelis of the Institute For Principled Policy discuss a hearing that they both attended and at which Chuck testified. The bill was SB 165: The Founding of America Documents Bill. The bill was originally proposed by our friends at Ohio Christian Alliance and simply required that the foundational documents of the United States of America like the entire Constitution which includes the Bill of Rights and following amendments, the Declaration of Independence, Ohio’s Constitution, the Northwest Ordinance, the Federalist and Anti-federalist Papers, etc. be taught in Ohio’s schools as a separate curriculum item in their original context. Seems kind of simple and necessary, doesn’t it? Not according to the Democrat Party members on the committee. Why? Listen here and find out.

Chuck testified in his capacity as Executive Director of Camp American. His testimony in its entirety can be seen here.
