  1. Matt Miller says

I won a seat on my county central committee for the GOP as a precinct committeeman. But I later found out that my county party’s constitution requires all members of committee to support and vote for all candidates endorsed by the county party. (They did not make their constitution readily available beforehand.) And they made it virtually impossible for this or any other rule to be changed. So I decided to resign. I would be dishonest to remain in the position while having no intentions of following the rules. Of course they enforce the rules only when it is convenient for them to do so.

    Matt,

Thank you for standing for principle over politics. It is a sad day when parties are controlled from the top down rather than the bottom up as originally designed.

The parties cannot stand the idea that the rank-and-file might take the initiative and overthrow their plan to force corrupt candidates down the throats of the electorate. Now the challenge is what’s the alternative?

Looking forward to working this out in the future.
